It's easy to access Google Finance even when you are away from your computer. Even using the most basic mobile phone, you can receive stock quotes simply by sending a text message containing a ticker to GOOGLE (466453). (Note that quotes are delayed at least 15 minutes.)
If you have web browsing enabled on your phone, go to http://www.google.com/m. And if you want easy access to stock quotes, look at Build your page and click on the Add Stocks link. Enter one or more stock tickers, and build up a watchlist for your phone.

When you're done, click the Add button. Now your Google search page will display your watchlist with 20-minute-delayed quotes below the search box. Better still, click on any of the tickers to see all the detailed quote data you would find on Google Finance on your PC, along with today's chart for that stock.
We're currently looking at alerts for your phone, too, so that you can be notified when your stocks hit specific pre-set values or when there are unusual movements in your portfolio stocks. We can even link these alerts to any relevant news articles that may offer an explanation on, say, movement in the price. Your feedback will be useful in helping shape this application, so feel free to comment.

I think the following sets of alerts would be handy:
- a once a day quote for a set of symbols
- movement up or down by a certain percent or value for any of the symbols in the set
- unusual volume for any symbols in the set
- news headlines that move any symbols in the set, like earnings, bad news, etc.
This is great but I would love to see my portfolio also. And also add mobile Finance site with other Google Mobile sites.
I use google stock quotes on my mobile homepage. I would use it more if it included all the info just like google finance does.. ie company news along side the chart, company profile, earnings, and competitor(s) quotes. or at least the ability to customize our views based on what is already available on regular google finance. Or the ability add information relivent to the stock(s) of interest. ie volume,pe, insider sales/purchases, beta, blog mentions.
Now I google for price information but marketwatch, msn and or yahoo finance for more detailed info. would be great to get onestop info shopping from google.
So what's the ETA on alerts? This is the one feature that causes me to go back to yahoo. I really like your interface better, but if I can get alerts, then it looses some core value with my ability to rely on your product alone.
N
alerts would be key, email & txt msg
